I started Simply Icon Packs after never being able to find the exact icons I was searching for. Either they weren’t royalty free, they didn’t have the look I wanted, or there weren’t enough together to fully match. I created the first pack of 140 Modern Business Icons after adding to it during a few months of freelance. Since I’ve made lists of icon categories I’m slowly working on and adding to the site when available.

Hip My Trip is my project ( Etsy shop & website) creating beautiful wall art from special trips.
The concept came from going on a round-the-world trip, working remote as a designer, and wishing to have a more aesthetically pleasing way to show my route other than Google Maps.
I accept URL’s from Google Maps, Map My Run, and other map sites (or get the list of locations in order) to create these images. There are a few map companies out there that will print a location from Google Maps, but I really wanted to show the routes since it tells a grand story of a trip and encourages travel and curiosity.
Currently I am making maps as a service, however my long term goals for this would be more community-based and centered around using maps as a conversation piece in forums. We are figuring out the best way to draw on maps so we could provide this free service to anyone- for example travel bloggers- and then getting a designed map could be more of an afterthought to the brand. I personally wish more travel bloggers had easy to follow maps in their posts! When I research before going on a trip I really wish I could visually see where these people went instead of needing to copy and paste each new location. A service like this would be very useful and more shareable for a blogger too. (Much prettier than google maps!)

The 2016 Cat Video was presented by myTalk107.1 and the St. Paul Saints. I lead and produced all graphic content for this event, a dream come true!
The integrated campaign was across many platforms, including but not limited to: Logo, Social Media, Environmental Signage, Website, Merchandise, Video (the stills), Slideshow, and a Snapchat Geofilter.
The team that put on the hugely successful 2016 Cat Video Festival was quite small, so it was a great opportunity to collaborate on ideas and truly feel like a part of the project. There was a great deal of direct creative exchange of ideas about the user experience, environmental design and production; I am confident this is what lead to such a successful event. From the reveal on social media, to the marketing campaign leading up to the event, to the guest experience at the event, every step felt very integrated and a part of a clear brand.
I'm very appreciative to have been on the team that put on this event for our community!
WANDERLUST RENTALS is the photo booth I managed for 4 years.
It started as a passion project; my dad built the booth for my sister's wedding in 2011. He simply wanted to build a fun interactive activity for attendees. However, after so much positive feedback, it was clear others wished to have the opportunity to use the booth. He encouraged me to take on the business because he wanted no more responsibility than helping with the setup/takedown!
This project has been a lot of fun because of the all-encompassing nature. I had a great product- a beautifully crafted green screen photo booth- and the opportunity to transcend into a solid brand and improved experience for others.
I branded the photo booth as "WANDERLUST RENTALS" because the green screen allows for users to be anywhere they want. Many of our weddings we've rented to have used significant locations around the world as backgrounds, for example a country they studied abroad together in, or a family farm.
The photo booth is a multi-level interactive experience. On top of the user having control over which backgrounds they would like to use, they can see in real-time the backgrounds switching out by viewing on the touch screen.
Since the photo booth is not a franchise and it was first-time use for everyone, the UX had to have ample consideration. The program interface we used at my sister's wedding was functional, however due to the text-based/monotone interface there were several times we would have to assist guests with what button to press next, or what to do. So once it was decided that I was going to brand and rent the booth, I was able to work with my dad who did the backend developing in creating an interface that was easier to navigate for a guest. He basically let me know what space we had to work with, and I transformed the interface to be much more graphical and visually-leading. While the placement of buttons couldn't be in my control, I was able to use tools like color, shapes, size, and font tone. This ensured users of all ages and eye sights could navigate the photo taking experience with ease. The end goal is for the users to associate the experience with fun and not stress!
You can see in the images that we have been able to use some fun backgrounds, including space cats and pop culture references.
Included in each rental is custom graphic design for the prints, as well as background images as needed. For example- one wedding we rented to had a theme of gold glitter, so I photoshopped 3 different gold glitter backgrounds for the green screen, and also created a custom label strip on each print with the couple's name and matching elements.
Since 2011 my dad and I rented out the booth, with me managing rentals and the custom graphic design for each client, and with him helping with the set up and take down. Initially after admitting we didn't quite have the time on the weekends to commit to events, and ultimately after I left for a wanderlust-fueled trip around the world myself, we halted the service. Maybe some day I'll utilize the technology and concept into a revival project, but for now the booth is tucked away in a closet. Working events and contributing to happy memories of those attending is quite a rewarding and fun expereince!
SplitUp! Tab Manager is a fun and elegant way to organize all your tabs into one list, and "SplitUp!" into (randomly) color-coded separate windows. There are some other tab managing options out there, but none have both the complete functionality as well as appealing and fun UI. Using this positive and immediately helpful interface will ensure that never again will you feel crabby from a browser that's too tabby.

BDxBC (Badass Design Bitches Collective) is the design collective I started in Minneapolis to counter street harassment. With help I rounded up a private Facebook group of about 100 designers that deal with street harassment and had an open call for sticker designs.
Each sticker was a different message crafted in its own voice. I found 20 local businesses that were interested in being distribution spots; so they were a location where the public could obtain free stickers under the agreement they would put them up somewhere in public, such as at bus stops or street signs.
I branded and lead this project, including designing and producing custom distribution boxes that were hand assembled and delivered.
We raised over $800 in a gofundme campaign and printed 2000 stickers, with 8 different designs. All artists involved in this project were volunteers, so it was pretty amazing to see this passion project come together!

For art’s sake… things I’ve created for pure fun. Most here are from an art show where I used mostly mechanical pencil, paper, gold leaf, feathers.
Graphics and custom vector illustrations created for the pop culture talk radio station myTalk107.1, based in the Twin Cities and streaming nationally.
myTalk107.1 is unique in that it is the only talk radio station in the country that talks entertainment all day. There are discussions about new movies, current events, special guests from the entertainment industry, and opportunities for listeners to call in and contribute to the conversation. Overall the station is quite positive and vivacious, supports the local community and values listening just as much as speaking, which is why I feel it is so great.
The station is very integrated into social media channels and relies heavily on the website to host promotions and share content shared on air, so graphics end up being quite useful with this audible platform.
I helped developed an identity for myTalk that is modern, bold, colorful, and consistent with the use of flat primary colors, polka dots, sharp angles, and white space. I created a new series of billboards that stepped away from the previous brand and represented this new identity.
Disclaimer: I have a background in motion design from college and my first ‘real job’ though it’s been a few years since I’ve been actively creating new motion pieces. I’m happy to take on smaller logo animations, but don’t have the equipment (ie tons of RAM) to take on more than this
